Collecting cord blood at birth is painless and harmless to the baby and mother. In fact, most doctors or midwives in major clinics and hospitals are already well versed with this simple procedure.

STEP 2. SIGNING UP WITH US

Upon signing up, a special cord blood collection kit will be provided. Customers will need to provide details of their attending obstetrician or hospital to Cellsafe, so that we can make the necessary arrangements to ensure the people involved are familiar with the cord blood collection process. Remember to keep your collection kit in a cool and dry place, and do not forget to bring it along with you before your baby delivery.

STEP 3. DELIVERY DAY

Customers will need to bring along with the collection kit to the labour room and hand it over to the obstetrician or mid-wife before going into labour.

STEP 4. AFTER THE COLLECTION

After the delivery of the newborn baby and successful collection of the cord blood, the doctor or midwife will hand back the cord blood collection kit to the baby's father. Cellsafe's logistics specialist should arrive shortly at the hospital for pick-up and delivery of the collection kit to the Cellsafe laboratory.

Note: The collection kit contains a special chemical that prevents the cord blood from clotting in room temperature for up to 48 hours.
